Child Care Frequently Asked Questions
We have a team of Nannies with varying experience; from years of working as a private nanny in the French Alps to being a Mum of three. Everyone will have a paediatric first-aid training qualification. We will provide details of your Nanny after booking with SnowBugs and you can read more about them here
We promise that each Nanny will have completed the UK DBS check or national equivalent which will be presented before employment begins. All Nannies will also be fully insured to care for your children. We also ask for an employment and character reference.
We will continue to care for them as long as your child or children are comfortable and it safe for the nanny to do so. Under your advisement we can administer medicine, such as Calpol, for sniffles and colds, can administer prescribed medicine with written consent from a parent or guardian and we can help you arrange seeing a doctor if needed.
We will ask you during booking for emergency contact numbers of both parents/guardians and provide you with the number of your nannies. You can also contact 0044 7908 748 262 / 0033 616 973 601. We will get in touch immediately if there are any accidents, perform first-aid with your consent and alert the EMS if necessary. Everyone is also fully insured.
On the first day of child care your Nanny will arrive around 15-20 minutes early. Most bookings are of 6 days so to allow your Nanny to reenergise and get ready for your child care we have to allow for one day off a week, which is usually a Saturday when guests arrive in resort.
Every SnowBug Nanny is equipped with a bag of toys, bum boards and arts and crafts. We also have sledges for smaller children and if you visit our Baby Equipment Hire page
you will find lots of information on where you can hire things like push-chairs for your stay.
Also did you know that when booking over 40 hours you will receive a discount per hour for more than one child!
You can book at any point before your holiday but we would usually require a deposit one week before hand, so anything with later notice would need a deposit to be made on the day of booking. We do get very busy during UK Half Term weeks, especially New Year and February Half Term weeks, so make sure you get in touch early if you can.
The 2015/2016 UK Winter/Spring Half Term dates are:
Christmas Holidays - Saturday 19th December 2015 - Friday 1st January 2016
February Half Term - Saturday 13th - Friday 19th February 2016
Easter Holidays - Saturday 26th March - Friday 8th April 2016
We require a payment of a deposit no later than one week after the date of booking. The remainder will need to be paid in cash of the first day of child care in resort to your Nanny, in euros.
A deposit will usually be 1/3 of the total booking.
This can be arranged upon request and will need to be in sterling.
Please send an email with details of your booking to [email protected]
Where notification of a cancellation is more than 8 weeks before the start of your booking no further payments will be due. Your initial deposit payment is non-refundable. Where notification of a cancellation is less than 8 weeks before the start of the booking, no payments made will be refunded. Should the payment not have been settled at the time of your cancellation you will be invoiced the total booking fee.

Snow D’Light Ski School

There are lots of hire shops in all resorts so finding equipment won’t be a problem. In resort centre look for ‘Magasin De Location’ or ‘Location de Ski’ shops. In particular in La Tania Ski Higher are very helpful. It's generally much cheaper to hire in advance via the internet.
Various companies across the Alps offer transfers to the Courchevel and Meribel Valleys. Good ones to try are SnowBound Transfers or 3V Transfers, but you can see a few options here
See exactly what’s happening live in the whole Courchevel Valley, with links to Meribel and the surrounding areas, on the La Tania website webcam page.
There are various things to do in all resorts, you don’t just have to ski! Visit our dedicated resort pages to see more about them:
