SnowBugs are pleased to introduce you to Ambre…

Ambre is from the North of France originally but will be joining SnowBugs in Meribel for her second winter season with SnowBugs in 2017-18, which will be her third winter overall. Ambre met around 60 children last winter in Meribel and is very excited to meet many more this season. Although Ambre will be living in Meribel again and mainly covering that valley - including Meribel Les Allues, Meribel Village and Meribel Mottaret - you will also find her looking after little ones in the Courchevel Valley and La Tania too.

The first time I spoke with Ambre I knew straight away that she would be the perfect Nanny to join us here in the mountains at SnowBugs. She came across as friendly, caring and genuine and to top it all off her experience, experience and education makes her the ideal Nanny for the many families we meet during winter.

Ambre Says:

“Hello, my name is Ambre, but most of my international friends call me Amber. I'm from the North of France originally but I started travelling quite early in my life, whilst gaining a Masters in Child Psychology.

Last year working for SnowBugs was a revelation; it was such a great experience and I just knew straight away I had to come back to spend more time having fun and making fun holiday memories with the little ones! Soon after my winter season as a SnowBugs Nanny I went to Nice for the summer where I continued caring for babies and young children, as well as teaching English to young French children. This only grew my love for child care even more and I know I don’t want to stop helping them grow and caring for them any time soon!

My love for child care really took hold when I studied my Bachelor Degree in my hometown, and then decided to do an MA (Masters) in the same subject in the French Riviera. During my studies I completed various internships which involved working with children of all ages with varying mental health issues. With my education and work experience in Child Psychology I just knew from there that a career working with children was meant for me.

Then a few years ago I had the opportunity to work in the mountains for the first time; unexpectedly it really quickly appeared to be where I belong. I used to go to the mountains every year on family holidays when I was younger, so I guess the love started there! Playing in the snow and skiing always have been my favourites.

In the mean-time my little sister was born, 18 years after me to be exact, and I helped look after her from birth until the age of 2. I have always loved caring for children, for as long as I can remember; even when I was really young I loved looking after younger ones.

When I'm not in the mountains I'm either travelling, visiting my family or gaining more experience in child care; for example, last year I worked for a while in a nursery in the UK. It taught me how to help create an environment that would enable every single child to fulfil their potential. I'm very creative and love to plan activities around the children’s interests and needs! That's a big reason I'm so happy to join the team of SnowBugs this year with the personal service offered.

Now I'm just really looking forward to meeting you all!”
