Introducing Margot, your SnowBugs Nanny…

It is with pleasure that we introduce Margot to the SnowBugs team for the winter of 2017-18. Margot will be based in Courchevel Le Praz and will cover the whole Courchevel Valley, including La Tania, which has been recently merged with Courchevel.

Each SnowBugs Nanny goes through a lengthy interview process to ensure that only the perfect person is selected to join the team; from the very first phone call it was clear that Margot would be right for the team and all the lovely families and little ones that we have the pleasure of caring for. We know you’ll love her just as much as we do and we’re so proud to have her on the team this year.

Margot Says:

“Hi! My name is Margot and I’m a Kiwi girl. I finished university at the end of 2012, having studied Psychology and Economics, and I've spent the last 5 years working in various sales roles. Earlier this year I decided it was time for an adventure, so I resigned from my full-time job at home in New Zealand and have been travelling all over Europe and the U.K for the past few months. I’m so excited to continue my adventure here in the Alps this winter, I'm a keen skier and working a season somewhere has always been on my bucket list.

I'm a real people person and absolutely thrive off the presence of others; adults and children alike. I absolutely LOVE kids and have had heaps of experience looking after them. I started babysitting back when I was 16 and had a number of families who I would care for regularly. I continued to both Nanny and babysit for the next few years whilst I was a student, and for the duration of my university holidays. I made some really special bonds and friendships, and am still in contact with lots of the kids today. One of the families I worked with for 4 years, watching their girls grow up from ages 4, 8 and 10 years old. I’d care for them regularly throughout the week after school and at weekends, and also during the school holidays from all day to overnight care.

I also have a gorgeous nephew back in NZ who I spend as much time as possible with and would happily look after him whenever my sister and brother-in-law needed, which I have done since he was 14 weeks old. I miss him terribly when I travel!

I'm a super outdoorsy and sporty person - I'm happiest when I'm outside in the fresh air and doing something active. I love running, skiing, hiking in the beautiful New Zealand bush and mountains, and playing tennis with my friends and family. In the summertime I spend a lot of time out on the lake wakeboarding and water skiing. If I am indoors you'll most likely find me in the kitchen cooking or baking, or in a comfy chair with my nose in a book.

This is my first winter with SnowBugs and I couldn't be more excited. I'm really enthusiastic and friendly but I'm patient and caring as well, which I feel is the perfect combination to ensure the children I care for will have an amazing holiday, whilst all their usual needs are being met. Some of my best memories are of family ski holidays and I can't wait to share my enthusiasm for the mountains and the snow with the kids I am going to meet this winter in Courchevel. I can’t wait to contribute to an amazing holiday experience for each child, that one day they will be able to look back on and enjoy!”
